It just says 'the journey was itself the destination, so all my travels were successful'.. which isn't very profound (or new). I just thought it sounds better the way Faiz has written it. Since it's the 'maqtaa' (closing sher) of the Gazal it has his 'takhallus' (pen name) in it for identification.

I came here to ask for a translation. Nice to see that it has already been done. After knowing what it means, it totally makes sense though.
btw, it reminded me of a sher along similar lines:
Hum bhi dariyaa hai, humen apna hunar maloom hai
Jis taraf bhi chal padenge raasta ho jayega
